Unified Snowshoeing and Unified Floorball bring people together in fun, friendly sports competition.
[Turin, Italy - 10 March 2025] Special Olympics Global Ambassadors Dale Moss and Dr. Seun Adigun competed in snowshoeing and floorball alongside Special Olympics athletes in a Unified Sports Experience at World Winter Games Turin 2025.
“I always say there is no other time that I am happier than when I’m at the Special Olympics World Games,” said Dale Moss, former American professional football player, actor, producer, and filmmaker. “The Unified Sports Experiences are something I greatly look forward to! I get to see if I can shake the rust off and come through for my team in snowshoeing and also floorball which will be so much fun!”
I am absolutely ecstatic! I was so excited to try snowshoeing, and am so happy to do it for the first time in the Italian Alps with Special Olympics athletes.

Inspired by the Special Olympics Unified Sports® program, Unified Sports® Experiences provide memorable opportunities for athletes and fans to experience and demonstrate the importance of inclusion, sportsmanship, and friendship. These events are designed to help foster a relationship of respect, acceptance and camaraderie among all participants by uniting everyone in the joy of competition.
Twenty teams of four people each—two Special Olympics athletes and two people without intellectual disabilities—competed in Unified Snowshoeing at the Sestriere Sport Center on 10 March. Each teammate ran 50 meters in a relay format for 200 meters total.
On Wednesday 12 March, six seven-person teams will compete in Unified Floorball at Inalpi Arena from 17:00-18:00. Each team will compete in three 10-minute matches.
