For the very first time, Italy will host the Special Olympics World Winter Games, taking place across Turin, Sestriere, Pragelato and Bardonecchia, from 8 to 15 March 2025.
The Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 will bring together over 1,500 athletes from 102 countries, with more than 2,000 volunteers, 3,000 family members and more than 1,000 coaches and delegation officials. These athletes will compete in eight winter sports over nine days, showcasing their skills in alpine skiing, cross country skiing, dance sport, figure skating, floorball, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and short track speed skating.
This event is set to be the largest sports and humanitarian gathering of 2025, highlighting the immense gifts of individuals with intellectual disabilities, one of the world’s most marginalized populations.
The deadline for registration is 29 January 2025.
Please note that media credentials are exclusively for media professionals, including television and radio organizations, newspapers, national magazines, online media outlets generating original content, and photographic agencies serving digital and print clients.
