Using an adaptive sit-style ski and a certified instructor’s support, Michal Dolinsky, with Special Olympics Slovakia, conquers the slopes – showcasing his determination, talent, and love for sport.
Michal competes in Special Olympics’ Motor Activity Training Program (MATP) which is Special Olympics’ movement-based sport program for athletes with profound intellectual disabilities who have high support needs.
MATP opens the world of sports to athletes of all abilities, proving that while the way they compete may differ, their passion, competitiveness, and joy for sport are universal.
When he sees the monoskis, you see him start trembling, shaking his hands and legs—pure excitement. He knows he’s about to do sports.
For Michal, MATP isn’t just about movement – it’s about joy, empowerment, and breaking barriers through sport. And for the first time at a Special Olympics World Winter Games, MATP Alpine Skiing will be showcased!
